First let me say I was just supporting my girlfriend on this venture. I was no way affiliated with the auditions(I would have been with her but they want 500 dollars per person just to stand next to your family for the process).

After the first day is was clear that this function was extremely disorganized. I'm putting this very lightly because I have never seen a group of people that calls them self a business be so oblivious of the angry mob of talent and familys. My girlfriend asked multiple "employees" what the plan was and they would respond one of two ways "find (faceless employee #3)" or "get in that line that I have no idea what it is for". Then a few days go by and my girlfriend runs to the room crying about how some guy was extremely rude about her paralegal job, when she responded the question of where she worked he was kind enough to respond "wrong answer" and crumple up her resume and place it in the trash.

So apparently you are supposed to give them twentyfive hundred dollars out of nowhere because having a job is not not okay in this industry. After hours apon hours of standing in line for nothing she would just come back to the room because she felt like she was not needed. So of you want to pay thousands of dollars then more thousands to get your family there to be ridiculed and feel worthless then this is a great place for you.

Now on the last day we sit here from 8:30am to 2:00pm for "callbacks" for new auditions that may or may not happen and I just feel like they are just now making a plan for this whole thing. So if you loved my tail of sadness them please contact this company because you will fit right in, but beware you may have to wait for a callback for a long time but they sure will take your money no matter how displeased you may be

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I just returned from a weekend at the convention with my son. It is definitely not a scam as he now has agents and managers chasing him.

A scam is not the word I would choose to describe Industry Network. I attended with my 9 year old daughter.

She was selected to come with her talent management group and it was quite the experience. My daughter has grown so much in the past 6 months and has gone from walking with her head down to holding her head high. We had the option of not going if we did not or could not pay the price to attend. We chose to attend and chose to pay.

There was never a promise of a job or a contract with an agent. Only the exposure of being in front of the agents. I suppose we were fortunate to not see the disorganization you speak of because our directors were on top of everything the whole weekend. Our group came together and stayed together.

My daughter received 5 call backs, however, no signing with an agent has come out of it yet. It may or may not happen. She did an amazing job of being confident and poised in front of strangers, something that she would not have done 6 months prior. That is an accomplishment in itself for us.

She still has much to learn and will continue to give it her best until she lands that dream role or decides this isn't for her anymore. We were able to witness first hand the type of talent that booked auditions and jobs immediately. Also, we saw talent that were signed immediately with agents as some of them were a part of our team. There were times that we had to wait awhile before she went in to act out her scene or do her monologue, but that is nothing compared to the waiting that takes place at auditions and even jobs.

Whomever said that patience is a virtue obviously worked in this industry.

Dear Anonymous,

As an organization that prides itself on not only working with agents, managers, casting directors and other industry executives with the highest integrity but employing only those with the same, we take it very seriously when we read comments like yours.

Industry Network keeps our National events small by only selecting those who have demonstrated great ability and an incredible work ethic to attend. Agents and managers only want to work with those who have demonstrated both.

During our most recent event, we had not had any negative feedback with regards to any agent or staff member.

But as with any larger event, we always go above and beyond to address any issues that may arise. It would be most appreciated if you could contact me directly via email (Tiffany@***.com) so I can personally address any issues you may have had.

By remaining anonymous, we cannot look into your grievances and correct any problems you may have had.

Best,

Tiffany Rochel President The Industry Network

I am sorry she had such a miserable experience. IN is not a scam but they also don't guarantee that you will be successful in the business either.

My daughter attended the same IN event. It was very busy and felt a little disorganized but again that does not make it a scam. It is a business that provides training in acting and modeling and puts you in front of agents...many, many reputable agents - many more than I realized would be there - it really seemed to be at least 50 but it think was closer to 75.

It costs money to put on an event like this so yes, it is not free.

But it you can afford it and this is your interest, it is a good way to get in front of agents. My daughter was already offered contracts with 3 talent agencies that want to represent her and we have not yet heard back from the rest but confident we will in the next couple of weeks. One agent was rude and said that my daughter does not have enough experience and needs to get more. Really, she was just blunt and it is true, my daughter does not have a lot of experience but is willing to try and get it.

Another, said the same thing and talked about ways to get it. Very informative, really.

Again, I was worried IN was a scam initially but this is legit. IN has contacts and a good reputation with many agents.

They train you and put allow you to perform in front of legitimate agents. If you ever went to an open casting call for an agency, this is so much more. With IN, whether you have a good experience and get work depends on how you perform. I suspect the rude person to your girlfriend was one of the agents not IN.

Some people are just not nice - that is not IN's fault. My daughter had that experience at the regional event with the one agent they had come who was a little rude - he seemed to favor tall people and we aren't.

He was at this national event but no big deal for us - my daughter took it in stride and just smiled and laughed every time we saw him.
